John Lyne's Photo Collection
« on: November 11, 2019, 04:27:50 PM »
We rarely include collections that are not Shoreham related. This one though from long standing member, cartoonist and Shoreham resident John Lyne is such a stunning record of historic naval photographs that we jumped at the chance.
Thank you John.
The collection can be seen on

Thank you for arranging and presenting some of my Father's naval photographs,I am sure that they will be of interest to many, photographs taken when 'Britannia ruled the waves' incidentally he was a Shoreham resident from 1935.
The first photograph was of the Home Fleet returning from manoeuvres under the command of Admiral Sir John Kelly and was one of the few photo's that were annotated.
The ships were as follows  Flagship HMS Nelson follwed by Rodney,Barham,Valliant,Warspite,Hood,Repulse,Renown etc.,etc.,
