As a long standing Shoreham inhabitant I've long had the belief that the Crabtree and The Burrells were to be avoided at all costs.
NOW however, a new owner seems to have arrived and while the Burrells has, thankfully, been closed down, the Crabtree is now a superb little gem in the center of town.
I took my 3 year old down on Saturday afternoon and it was simply perfect. A great area at the back for kids to play and burn off that energy as well as lovely seating areas for the adults to sip very good beer. I was completely taken aback as well when the lovely lady behind the bar called me "Sir". What a transition!!!!
Many thanks for making me and my little girl so welcome - we'll definitely be back.

I live very close by the Crabtree and have avoided it until recently. it is now under new management, serves food, has had a bit of a face-lift and has had the garden cleared and some excellent childrens garden furniture installed, including a superb climbing frame/treehouse. I am mostly a day-time visitor but the evening atmosphere seems more relaxed nowadays.

Just popped in for an afternoon drink with the family, so can't comment on the evening ambience or quality of the range of beers. However, the London Pride I had was clean, crisp and a good temperature. The rear garden is a great spot if you've got kids in tow, with a decent wooden climbing frame, wendy house, and a little plastic car ride. Looks tidy, friendly and inviting. A nice covered spot for smokers out back too. The also do a 'real ale passport' that you can get stamped which gets you one free ale for every three you buy! I'll definitely be back. Also saw a poster for a regular karaoke night.
