Adur Outdoor Centre Activities

Adur Outdoor Centre Shoreham by Sea

The Adur Outdoor Activities Centre, situated on the banks of the River Adur here in Shoreham, offers a wide range of outdoor and adventure activities for young people from school, college & youth groups. There are residential, social and conference facilities available for groups. Adult groups and individuals can also be accommodated on many of the above activities, and we can arrange corporate days out and training events and programmes.

The Climbing Wall

The main Climbing Wall opened on the 2nd August 2003. The main Wall is an area 8m x 10m, x 10m high and offers a wide range of graded climbs. There is a membership scheme available offering Individual, Couple, Family and Junior memberships. Two passport-sized photographs are needed to for those who wish to become members. Competent climbers need to register at the Centre before using the Wall.

Individual novice climbers will be required to attend an induction programme before using the wall. There will be a smaller wall opening early next year which will be accessible by wheelchair users and will be available for younger groups to do top-roped climbing and for traversing.

Residential Accommodation
We also have residential accommodation for up to 16 people. The Centre is also available as a venue for meetings, training courses, and there are catering and refreshment facilities on-site.

School Holiday Programmes
We organise activities for young people during most school holidays periods and details are available approximately 6 to 8 weeks before the holiday. The Extreme programme, organised in partnership with Adur District Council is run during the Summer holiday period. Please phone 01273 462928 for brochures.

Group parties
If you have a special occasion, a birthday maybe, coming up, why not celebrate with a fun session at the Adur Centre. Activities could include Climbing, Raft building, Mountain Biking, Canoeing, Kite-making and Team Challenge sessions. These can be tailored for many age groups.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The Centre can provide Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition training and assessments in water-based craft, for each level of the Award Scheme.
