Learn how to survive the credit crunch
Local people can learn how to beat the credit crunch with taster sessions in Shoreham-by-Sea this month.
‘Surviving the Credit Crunch’ has been organised by the West Sussex Adult and Community Learning Service, in partnership with Southlanders, a group of residents from the Southlands area of the Adur district.
It takes place on Saturday September 20, from 10.30am to 3pm, at Glebelands day centre, in Middle Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, BN43 6GA.
People attending the event can go on two of a number of taster sessions, including:
- Healthy eating on a budget: with cooking demonstrations and tips on how to feed a family healthy food to a budget.
- Growing your own vegetables: learn how to grow fruit and vegetables in gardens, and plant something to take away with you.
- Managing money: understanding bills, statements and budgeting.
- Fun and creative ideas for what to do on a budget as a family.
- IT: learn how to compare prices on the Internet to find the best shopping deals.
A free sandwich lunch and refreshments will be provided.
West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Adults’ Services John de Mierre said: “Everyone is feeling the pinch now with constant increases in fuel prices, food and utility bills. These taster sessions will help people work out ways to save money and cut costs wherever possible.”
