A top prison and offenders Arts award has gone to a Shoreham drama and production company for its work with youth offenders in Brighton. Company Paradiso Productions, whose interactive radio drama Legsy Gets a Break, performed on BBC Southern Counties Radio and live at the Ropetackle Arts Centre last year , drew inspiration from real life stories from a number of young offenders. The stories were compiled into an interactive play, written by Bill Writer Phil Gladwin. |

Does anyone have any information on the Allen family? My mother (Emma Jane Molden, nee Allen) was possibly the last of the Allens to be born in Shoreham (in 1913) and I'd love to know more about the family history. My father always told me that the Allens had lived in Shoreham for as long as the town existed. Family legend states that the Allens were involved in smuggling Charles II to France and that he set sail from Allen's Gap (now Star Gap), next to Coronation Green. |

My area is Shoreham town Centre, including Ropetackle and along as far as the Lighthouse. I am currently looking for more members to be a part of the forum to meet bi-monthly. The idea being that the forum will nominate the top 3 priority community problems. These problems I will take away with me from the meeting, and endeavour to solve same. Our first meeting was 29 July at the Yacht Club, our second will be Tuesday 30 September 08. I am looking to increase our membership so anyone interested please contact me 0845 60 70 999 Ext. 26681. Members will include a cross section i.e businesses, residents, community groups, resident association representatives, youth club workers etc. Best regards, PCSO Rosemary Hill 26681

Any information on Dorothy Vera Hamilton? |

Hello, I realise you are all busy but I wondered if you could help me to find out about my family. Particuarly Dorothy Vera Hamilton. Little is known about her except the fact that she was brought up as an orphan and fostered to a local unknown family. She attended what we believe to be ST Josephs convent where they only spoke and were taught in french. There is also a connection with the Easter family who lived in the white house near the airport, Mr Easter paid all her education and family needs. |
