P.
I have done some sums, If every home in Lancing bought the building off Mr Hole for the price he payed for it through the Council it works out 3 and a half pence a week for 25years and we could have an outside roller rink on the beach
Parish Councils can borrow money at a very favorable rate, my sums used 5% to get my figures but if we borrowed at a lower rate it could be 2 and a 1/2 pence a week. -

Any bit of grass you can see is deeded to the residents of Lancing and nothing can be built on. not even widening the path -

Maybe you could invests 1 and a half million to get it open it appears only me and now Mr Hole and the people who Mr Hole bought it of has done any sums and decided it will not work as a business.
The Owners before Mr Hole spent a small fortune buying the mermaid cafe knocking it down building whats there now and then did his sums and realised it was a white elephant that would never be worth while finishing so sold it a a huge loss, don't you think they covered every option how to make it work before they took a many hundreds of thousands loss.
Now Mr hole has come to the same conclusion as the people he bought it off trying to open it up will cost hundreds and hundreds of thousands and for what , rent from 3 flats and running a restaurant that will never make enough money to keep open, some one wanting a coffee now and again isn't going to do it.
If Mr Hole can open a hotel on the top floor which he is looking at now that will not be worth doing it cost a small fortune every day to run a hotel every day, even when there is no visitors near half the time in the winter.
The sooner people come to their seances and realise the building is a white elephant and remove it the better.
If any one come up with a plan for the land locked building I would love to see it as know one in 5 years has yet, so come on all you folks who say it will work whats your plan. -

I suppose a certain amount of parking could be allocated from the car park there now, and the hotel should it ever get built which I doubt, could pay for people to park their cars there. It certainly is a difficult one.
What a shame they could not divide the building into two separate restaurants, maybe one Chinese and one Indian. Or even one posh restaurant and one posh cafe.
Parking
Why would anyone want to carry cases over dog shit infested land to get to a hotel in the middle of winter,
Restaurants.
Lancing has loads of them in the week days most are only just getting enough customers to make it worth opening, nobody is going to struggle over open ground getting soaking wet, shoes filthy, only to have to scrap dog shit of them to go in to eat when there are loads of easier places to go to.
