in association with STORMRIDERS in ferry road weve been talking about an charity event to raise money for a local charity/cause and we need suggestions of causes/charitys we could help
we want to put something back into the community we live in .
so we have come up with the idea of a sponsored sail along the coast starting from somewhere like goring or little hampton and finishing at brighton .
this is good in 2 ways 1 we kitesurfers have a great fun day on the water and 2 we each have a sponsor form and get sponsored to do it raiseing money for a local fund and hopefully earning some respect from people that are against us by showing we are not all bad
so i want your ideas of who or what the funds raised could be best used/neede by
no dates set at the moment as we are still in early stages of organising hence wanting input as to who you think should get the cash we raise
thanks

Hi Daz,
Great idea, both for raising the profile of boarders along the Shoreham coastline and for helping the town.
Personally my recommendation for the charity to receive any funds raised would be for the St Marys Restoration Appeal. This has been the focal point of the villge/town of Shoreham since around 1305 and whether you worship in the church or not it is till the main tourist attraction if the town. Essentially they need £50,000 t stop the vaulted roof collapsing.
Again, a great idea Daz and please let me know if you want me to add an online sponsorship form to this site and I'll advertise the whole event on this site for you.
Please let me know if we can be of any help either via this board or by mailing pete@shorehambysea.com

Great idea guys, good luck with it.
I'd like to offer my help if I can, if you are planning some sort of party afterwards or during the event I'd be happy to offer my services as a DJ for free.
I'm, not talking cheesy wedding music with voiceovers here, but proper dance music on vinyl and mixed live to club standards.
If you can sort out a sound system I can provide decks and mixer.
Same goes for anyone on the beach who wants a free DJ for their party, its a hobby that I don't get to practice much at home in the interests of domestic harmony, and i just love playing live.
If you love proper club music from the early nineties to date, you won't be disappointed!
Email me for more info!
Cheers
