I am pretty sure I used to have the option to subscribe to a thread and receive notifications via email when a new post was made.

Cannot see this option now but every time I post the thread has a note at the top saying "watching this topic". This doesnt seem to achieve anything in reality.

What does "watch forum" actually do as well?

When you click Watch you should see an open for immediate / delayed / digest emails.

I think you can also configure this through the site settings, for existing subscribed topics.

If you're not receiving emails from the site (do you get notifications of PMs), add it to your email service's whitelist. This server sent out a load of spam a few months back, so is on a few spam blacklists. You might need to over-ride that. (I only noticed it when Thermo couldn't send me a quote - turned out his email comes from the same, previously tarnished server.

If you think I've posted something out of order - and you wouldn't be the first - please see the note on my About Me page (just click my photo)

Thanks Paul although I cannot see any WATCH button anywhere

I just get auto subscribed as watching on ANY thread I post in. I then receive a weekly digest of all threads updated and cannot see any option in my profile or the settings to amend this.

Basically. I dont want to watch any topic / forum I post in unless I specifically request this when replying (option used to be at the bottom of the page when replying).

Do you not see this?

Attached File  watch.jpg (86.9K)
Number of downloads: 5

Also, so into Settings (top right) and then click on the forums tab. You can change the option to subscribe to threads you post in, and also manage your existing subscriptions.
