Don't know if it is just me, but when I go to the forum 'front page' that lists all the various forums the page takes much longer to load than usual. This has been happening for a few days now. No big deal I know, but thought you may like to know.

Hmm, no problem for me running Chromium 18.0 on Ubuntu 10.04.
Is it trying to load adverts with loads of Java content?

Used to have this problem running Firefox until I started using "Ad Block Plus" a plug in that stops adverts loading. Not always popular with some websites as they lose revenue if the ad doesn't load.

Edit: changed Adaware to AdBlock Plus

Just tried loading via Firefox (with Ad Block) and no problem there either.

Edit 2: Tried loading with Firefox with Ad Block disabled, still no problem. There don't seem to be any adverts on the Forum home page.

mmmm interesting!

I'm running both Windows 7 (with Chrome, IE8, IE9 and Firefox) and its quick to load. I've also checked on an XP laptop (with Chrome, IE8 and Firefox) and its fine.

Richard & Suzanne - can you send me your OS (Windows XP, Windows 7 etc) and your browsers (Internet Explorer 7,8,9, Firefox etc) and I'll do some background checks.

Cheers,

Pete

Not had this problem until this week. Don't have a problem with any other page or site so far.

I get a 2 second delay on the forums front page - not seen on any other page.

Using debug tools I can see that it's something server side being slow, so it won't depend on the web browser.

Same for me with Windows 7 on Notebook with Chrome (won't let me sign in to SBS with IE9) and IE8 with XP on the desktop. P'raps it's just us?

It's not just you. I've tried it with various browsers (WinXP + Firefox 12.0, Chrome & IE8.) & can confirm what Paul said - it's not browser dependent. The loading time seems longer on IE8.

For some reason, about half way through loading the forum front page there's a couple of requests for the home page of the main website. I suspect they are probably broken bit of CSS, maybe loading '/' as an image source. Don't have time to debug the code right now.

I can see one of the problems is the tapatalk stuff.

<script type="text/javascript" src="mobiquo/tapatalkdetect.js"></script>

That's not loading correctly.

Don't know if it is just me, but the forum page is taking rather a long time to load again. Not as bad as last time, but it is still longer than it should be.

Snap!
It's taking a few seconds to come up.
Windows 8 and Google Chrome is what I'm using with the best results. If I use Firefox it takes a lot longer.
