I recently got a stain glass window made, which shows the view of Shoreham town from the Beach, including the footbridge. I really want them to get on and replace the old bridge, so that my window reflects a bit of history.

It's a really nice job made by Gary Brindley at Artistic Glass, on the Old Shoreham Road in Southwick. http://artisticglass.org.uk. I can add a couple of pictures if anyone is interested.

Yes please, love to see it.

Ok It is a little spooky right now. This sits between our living room and garage and we need some obscuring plastic on the other side. So please ignore the upturned bike that someone has deposited in the river. It should disappear next week.

That's *fantastic*. Would it be rude to enquire about the ballpark costs? By all means tell me to get lost if that's too nosey!

Paul, we got a really great deal on this. I think now that Gary knows how much works is involved in creating such a large scenery, he will likely adjust his pricing, but even then I don't think he will be biting anyone's arm off.

Oh, and his website appears to be broken. Might be worth mentioning if you speak to him.

Including fitting and removal of the old window, yes this is the ballpark.

I believe this was originally an external window and the garage was added later. The garage has a clear perspex roof, which has a few limitations, but it does at least allow the natural light through. I did think we might add a light in the garage for the evenings, but it hasn't been necessary. We have one darkish corner nearby for which I have added a small uplighter on a timer. We have had to tone down our colour scheme plans for the rest of the room though.
