Interesting....but is Whitehawk Hill a main transmitter? if so they say in the blurb that aerials should be in the horizontal configuration whereas we have had ours vertically polarised for yonks :!:

I had to re-tune this morning to get bbc 1&2 alive

I have a Panasonic flat screen

Menu, settings, OK, choose DVB, OK, it told me I will loose old settings, Press OK and it re-tuned and now works.

Does anyone else get dropouts on their freeview TVs? Ours is connected to the roof aerial which is less than 18 months old. We get a very good picture, but often after a few minutes of watching the signal goes completely and we get a "no signal" message for around 30 secs before it comes back. This can happen several times in any one program but usually tends to be worse at the beginning.

This is the only TV in the house which has an aerial connection (rather than Virgin Media) so I'm not sure if its normal. Maybe it will stop with the switchover, will have to wait and see.

I found the telly signal went off completely last night I was expecting it to come back after re tune but every scan I did showed no signals, gave up in the end, twitter was quite active with others in the same boat

tried again this morning and it was okay, just would have thought they could have told you , you'll lose your signal for about 5 hours

I too thought that we would get HD as part of freeview. I don't have it so far either. Is that due after 21st March when the final phase is due? I wonder....

I wish that Reading didn't get mentioned every five minutes though!

They kept plugging the fact you could still get south today s opposed to south east today, could not find this channel anywhere on my telly or sagem (freeview PVR) don't watch south today that much but there is a cler difference in he reporting style on he new one, does feel a bit like losing an old freind

Those of us with Sky have had BBC1 SE for years. It's actually the CORRECT BBC region for us, and you do get more local news on it than BBC1 S. The main reason we've all grown up with Sally & co on BBC1 S is because the Brighton transmitter at Whitehawk previously took a direct feed from Rowridge on the Isle Of Wight.

Many/most Freeview receivers will put any duplicate channels they find (e.g. BBC1 but from a different transmitter) in the 800 range.

So what you have on 801 could well be different to your neighbour.
