Hello,
I am about to move down to Shoreham and was very excited about it (as i love the feel of the place)...but then i found this website and had a scan through all the town message boards...
all i seem to hear about is...
violence, crime, flashers (amusing), chavs, rude leering oldies at Yacht club and the general decline of a town!!
surely someone has something positive to say to a family about to start up a new life down here!
Please :) :?

been here 4 months, compared to north london it is indeed paradise on earth

I think a few chav familys have been moved in to give the good citizens of moulescombe a break, obviously they are still acting like the chav/criminals that they are, sooner or later they`ll get there asbo's and get moved on

probably

Shoreham is lovely though :)

Please don't worry too much about the moans on this site and this is really one of the few avenues the good people of Shoreham have to raise any concerns about the town and therefore it does read like we live in a "right rough area" as my Father would say.
The residents of Shoreham KNOW how good it is to live here and, in general, enjoy a lifestyle second to none to the South Coast. As with any community there are some bad apples, but they do not spoil the whole apple cart.

I'd be extremely suprised if you and your family regretted ever moving to Shoreham, its one of those wonderful towns, full of live and beauty, that is rare to find in the UK nowadays. With its artists, Beach Dreams Festival, The Airport, the querky characters and the wonderful beach - you'll never want to live anywhere else.

Best regards,

I would add that Shoerham is a great place to live; the few annoyances there are, will be found wherever you go. And it's not just the town and the beach. 5 minutes drive and you are in the beautiful Sussex countryside. I think much of the moaning is precisely because the town is a good place; I care more about this place than all my previous homes put together.

welcome !

I can only echo Dave & Pete's comments, we moved here 18 months ago from Hove, although I lived here in my younger days, and it is a different world. There is something special about this town, we have noticed that the doctor and even their receptionists have time for you and are willing to help. The library have bent over backwards to get talking books for Linda, hell, they even got my book accepted to go on the shelves, they must be nice people. Really though compared to Brighton and Hove, this place is great. We have some of the best pubs for miles, wonderful walks and beaches, not to mention Widewater (search it out, not everyone knows its there!).
Come on down.

You will absolutely love living in Shoreham and its' problems are really not that bad. If they were and so common place then they wouldn't merit the comment they get on this site.
It is a wonderful place to live and you will not regret the move.
Welcome and enjoy.
