Nice place
I have eaten here many times last being 30/07/11 all tables were full Only 3 waiting Staff for the whole place, people sat waiting for a good 10-15 mins without a drink, the Menu has been reduced very limited choice and dishes not explained , nor do the staff advise you on attemped suicide with fish bones, very disapointing.
The food is always good at Chambers. Whether you go for the scrummy home made burger (tip: ask them to serve it on a plate rather than a plank), or some of the more elaborate dishes. It's always cooked with flair and confidence.
Internally, it hasn't changed much since it was a branch of Prezzo, but that's no bad thing. It's a nice place.
One thing that does bug me though is the 10% service charge. I know some of the top London restaurants do this, but most local friendly establishments don't. And the silly thing is, I'd probably leave more than 10% if service wasn't marked up like this. This is a personal issue though, not sure if others would feel the same (leave a comment against this review to let me know!).
Despite the ten-percent issue, I'm sure Chambers will remain one of my regular Shoreham eating haunts.
I've eaten lunch and dinner here over the past 12 months but never got around to posting a review.
Chambers is great. The food is really good with a good choice and variety. The interior is funky and the staff are excellent.
If you like great food service and really good surrounds then go to Chambers !
We visited here for a birthday sunday lunch, with a party of 10 including 2 children. From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel welcome and special. The service from the staff was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good, with a range of starters being ordered, and most of us going for roast dinner to follow or fish and chips. All of it was very good and it was obvious the ingredients were fresh and cooked on premises. The fish went down very well with our children as well! The desserst are well worth leaving a space for.
The atmosphere was relaxed with soft jazz music at a low level in the background, and everywhere was clean and well presented.
It was all in stark contrast to another restaurant we visited in steyning the night before, that we were really dissapointed in, as the service was lacking and seemed to have gone down hill.
An absolute pleasure, and with the bill at less than £200 including drinks and service, for 9 people it was good value for money.
Highly recomended
have visited twice very good food and wonderful service
