This year, as an experiment (in view of the large numbers turning up in recent years), we have issued 400 free, but unreserved, tickets for the Town Carol Service at St Mary's at 17.00hrs on Christmas Eve. Entry for ticket holders will be via the South Door from 16.00hrs to 16.30hrs. However, the demand for tickets has been tremendous and they have now all been taken. We are sorry if any parishioners who had hoped to obtain tickets have been disappointed, but would like to point out that usually at "ticketed" events a number of tickets holders are unable in the event to attend to come for various reasons, so a few seats may still be available on the night.
There will also be room for about 30 - 40 people to stand at the back of the church, if they are prepared to do so. Accordingly the main West Door will open at 16.30hrs and non-ticket holders will then be admitted to any remaining seats or to stand, up to a safe maximum.
