The gorgeous Heather Steele was crowned Miss Shoreham By Sea 2007 on Sunday 20th May at the Chatsworth Hotel in Worthing. Heather, from Shoreham, is currently studying for a degree in sports science at the University of Chichester and she works part-time at Marks & Spencer. She finished third out of 40 contestants in last year's Miss Brighton competition and enjoys modelling work, having appearing on the front cover of M&S magazine. Her interests include trampolining, singing and keeping fit. She also plays the flute and piano. Heather said: "I believe this is the first Miss Shoreham contest held and, as I have grown up in the town, I thought it would be good to compete in it." Heathers duties as Miss Shoreham include promoting Shoreham-by-Sea and helping out in anyway possible in the community. If anyone has any ideas, please send them to

New Bridge Bid for Shoreham |

There is a proposal to build a better link between the town and the beach and replace the old footbridge. The new link would incorporate a cycle path as well as a footpath. This would provide superb access for all concerned. Ropetackle Festival Series Selling like Hot Cakes |

Organisers report tickets for the Ropetackle Festival Series -thats 31 events in the Adur Festival are selling well . There's been a fantastic start to ticket sales this year with the charitable trust, in the first week recieving £3000 in ticket sales.
Organiser Geoff Hodgson says "If you are planning to go and see Festival favourites in the Marquee this year at the Airport or Lancing College get your bookings in. Bigger and better is the best way to describe the exhibitions planned for the Adur Festival at both parish churches in the centre of Shoreham. Last year St. Mary’s pulled in the crowds with its “Passed to the Future” art exhibition and now over 50 local artists have signed up again – this time to produce work in paint, drawing, glass, wood, ceramics, photography, textiles and sculpture on the theme “Walking the Way” – everything from the “Path of Life” to tramping the South Downs! |
