Angling at the Albion for Teenage Cancer Trust PDF Print E-mail
Written by Graeme Carter

Shoreham Angling SquadSix members of the recently formed Shoreham Angling Squad went to the Withdean Stadium at Brighton on Saturday 17th February to present their adopted charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust with a cheque for £331.00, this was the remainder of £628 raised for the trust from their “Live Fishathon” event held in January 2007.

Alice Watts representing the charity was delighted with the cheque and said, “For such a new club they have dedicated their time and efforts to our charity and this is very rewarding”.

Not content with just presenting a cheque, the angling club members took hold of the charity’s donation buckets and rattled them at the football supporters as they arrived to watch Brighton play Nottingham Forest. This raised a further £442.00 on the day for the charity. Bringing the total raised by the caring anglers for the Teenage Cancer Trust to a superb £1078.

Steve Smith, our club chairman said, “We have many more events coming up which will raise even more money for this worthwhile charity. I am pleased to say that we will continue to support the Teenage Cancer Trust and we will happily come back to Withdean and rattle buckets for the Trust.
