Eventually the "Members" feature will be enabled within Shorehambysea.com and this will give our registered Members the ability to:

• Add their own topics and posts to the Shoreham-by-Sea Forums
• Upload photos to their own personal album in the Shoreham-by-Sea Gallery
• Add their own news articles, along with a named credit
• Add their own articles about Shoreham-by-Sea, along with a named credit
• Write comments about Photos in the Shoreham-by-Sea Gallery

Unfortunately non-members of the site will not be able to use the features above, but will be able to:

• Add to the Shoreham-by-Sea Pub/Bar Reviews
• Add to the Shoreham-by-Sea Restaurant Reviews
• Vote for their Shoreham-by-Sea favourite Pub/Bar
• Vote for their Shoreham-by-Sea favourite Restaurant

Why are you making visitors become Members?

As Shorehambysea.com is run as a hobby, we spend a huge amount of time answering emails, re-sizing photos for the gallery etc. With the new system a lot of this jobs are completed automatically, therefore giving us more time to spend with our loved ones.

In addition, there are a lot of spammers, spiders and bots out there looking to add either illegal or disruptive content to sites such as ours. When a person registers for Shorehambysea.com, we send an activation link to the email entered in the registration form. Once this link is clicked the member is allowed to access all of the features of the site above. Spam programs, spiders and bots cannot cope with the activation email and therefore cannot corrupt the site.
